Last Year's Winning Tribute

“I want to tell you about my amazing father. From the moment that I was born he has made it his life mission to show me how much he loves me and how valuable I am. My dad is the most loving, humble, and giving man that you will ever meet. Throughout my life he has set a great example of how a man should treat a female and he has never failed to show me what true unconditional love is. From wiping my tears after my first skinned knee to hugging me after my first heartbreak, my dad has always been there when I needed him. When I was in middle school I was in love with the Backstreet Boys. My dad and I drove to the Palace the night before the tickets went on sale and slept in the car overnight so I could get 2nd row seats.

His dreams were my dreams even if that meant taking me to see a  boy band. My dad has always been my biggest cheerleader. He came to all my basketball games, all my horse shows, and all of my track meets. I can still picture him at my track meets cheering so loudly. Even when I didn’t win, he made sure to tell me how proud he was of me and what a good job I did. I know riding lessons were very expensive, but he never complained despite the fact I know that it must have been financially hard to afford. My dad always managed to keep his cool throughout my teenage years despite my mistakes. When I was 16 I got in my first car accident and instead of getting mad, he brought a bouquet of flowers home for me and

told me how happy he was that I was safe. He has always demonstrated what it is to be a Godly man.  My dad is passionate about spending timewith God and he gets so excited when he tells me about the Bible studies he has been doing with my mom. I love hearing the excitement in his voice and seeing what God has done in his life. I am 36 years old now and the relationship I have with my dad is so special. He is my best friend and I would rather spend time with him than with my friends. My dad never misses an opportunity to tell me how much he loves me, how beautiful I am, how proud of me he is, and how thankful he is to be my dad.

My dad has always gone without throughout his entire life so my sister and I could have the best of everything. He never spends money on himself and would rather bless others. If I told my dad that I wanted a piece of the moon, he would make it his life mission to make sure that I got a piece and it wouldn’t be just any piece, he would make sure it was the best and prettiest piece of the moon. My dad faithfully tithes each month and gives to multiple charities throughout the year. I know how much this gun package would mean to my dad. I know he has been wanting to purchase a gun for a long time now and I would love to bless him as much as he blesses everyone he meets. Please pick my dad for the Dad’s Day Out Gun Package. Thank you.” – Lauren
